The Struggle Is Real

Experiencing humiliation is humbling yet a hard pill to swallow. After sharing news with people I felt of things coming to fruition, everything I believed turned out to be taken away. I was expecting my second child & weeks into my pregnancy I was informed there was no heartbeat. After being out of work since 1/15/16 I started my own jewelry business and in that time applied for a grant. Today I received a rejection email of not being a recipient for it. Prior to these two humiliating moments I was called to audition for a commercial I did not get called back for. I ask myself, "When am I going to get a fucking break?" It sounds raw but you know what...I am human. One cannot help but to be in their feelings for a moment when you bust your ass to achieve things in life when odds are against you. As a woman of faith I have to believe there is a great blessing around the corner. I will not curse God because this is what the enemy wants. The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want. Psalm 23

The Art of a Thriller Halloween

I just love Halloween! So my post is late but I'm busy working full-time, working on my new jewelry collection as well as being the best mom, partner & friend I can be. I have been wanting to do this couples costume idea for 3 years but my man wasn't down to do it. Boo to him! Good thing I have another man that will do it; although unwillingly...my son.;-) I know Halloween is for the kids, so not to take away from what my son wanted to be I asked that we compromise so Mommy could just check this costume idea off her list. Fair enough?

This was a DIY project as blue leopard print (when in need) seems more difficult to come by. I lucked up and found some inexpensive leggings on ebay as I had exhausted my search online and in thrift stores deciding to order two pairs of the leggings to use one to attach on my jean jacket.
Simply applying glue and safety pins because I was too lazy to break out the sewing machine.
VOILA! OLA RAY of THRILLER is reborn!
My son, like every other boy in the world wanted to be a superhero "Superman" and I told him that was boring everyone is superman you have to be Michael Jackson. Was I wrong for saying that? LOL I figured if I show him the thriller video I think he could get into this Thriller themed Halloween with me. Well, he got into it enough to only do the dance but as you can see from the pictures he wasn't feeling the costume so much.

The Art of Balance.

After talking with friends about life and being a working mom, I have to admit it is quite a challenge to do it all. I find myself drifting a lot from one thing to another...my focus needs to be corrected. I allowed doubt and excuses to put things off but there is no room for that in my life. I am surrounded by people that encourage me and set great examples. Everyday I am inspired by people like my friend Leslie who is a mother of 3 and has managed to be consistent and dedicated to her blog. Not only that, Leslie has created a way for other bloggers all over to collaborate and support one another. This builds a since of community and encouragement. I feel me having one child can't even compare. I am eternally grateful for people who stop at nothing to pursue their goals and do a damn good job at it. Here is to being up for the challenge and putting my best foot forward everyday. I am not putting myself down in anyway as I know I have had some amazing accomplishments. The fact of the matter is acknowledging what needs improvement as I strive for perfection in my ability to balance. #BLMGirl

The Art of The Vote.

As we approach election day it is crucial for us all to watch this docu-series. Two friends of mine, a brother and sister team are founders of Barack the Vote. All of their hard work has paid off tremendously as they are included in BET's docu-series. They are an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others to be the voice for the youth in politics while setting a business example. They give entrepreneurs like myself hope for a better tomorrow.

The art of Candid Snapshots

I love taking pictures to capture the memories. The best pictures are the ones that's aren't necessarily planned. Here are some photos out and about with my sis and our friends.

Looking like Holy Trinity sisters.

It's always good to laugh.

Can you handle my glare?
Hand in hand...nothing can break our sisterly bond.
The BFF rings.

My sister hated these glasses but I thought they were cute!
