I love a great vintage find! This pink and black print jumpsuit was at Buffalo Exchange for $12. It had a few holes and missing buttons. After examining the inside, I could see it was an unfinished piece someone had given up on. I ended up getting it for $6 because of the damages to it. With a bit of TLC I took it to a seamstress to have elastic put at the bottom of the leg, the holes sealed and buttons added. I'm an 80's baby so it's remnicent to my era and with a few modern pieces of jewelry and accessories it's styled with self expression. To transition into night I would slip on a pair of black heels.
I had the pleasure of getting in touch with NBC Host of Open House NYC and LXTV Sara Gore and her stylist Kat Rappaport. They are very sweet down to earth ladies. Here is Sara wearing her Regal Sovereign fishbone earrings and bracelet on this mornings taping of LXTV.
My friend Shauna Khorrami a news anchor in Las Vegas wore jewelry I handmade for her today on her morning show. It's one of a kind like she is. Shauna and I met a few years ago when I was assisting one of the top News Agents as I did not want to become an agent I decided to leave my 5 year invested career to pursue fashion. I have been making jewelry since 1998. I can say I have made it earlier on as a child when I got little bead kits for my birthday or Christmas. Shauna and I would talk about how we wanted to be successful in all we love doing and vowed that whoever made it first would help the other out. Well, she has kept her word and I now have more to add to my press-kit. Big thank you to you Shauna! Three years ago she and I were at Fred Segal in LA and she pushed me to talking to the associates and getting the buyers info as she insisted they need to have my jewelry in their store. LOL
Today Henri Bendel's held an Open-See call from 9AM-12PM for designers to share their precious works in hopes of getting a big break into the fashion industry. I of course attended and waited in line like everyone else as if we were auditioning for American Idol. I awoken from my slumber at 4AM and arrived at Bendel's by 6:30AM where there was a line of approximately 50 people waiting to meet the Buyers. Not too bad of a place in line however, the waiting in the cold for 3 hours was brutal. That's what I get for trying to be cute in my tights and shorts.
All of us hopefuls had our luggage filled with our collections of either Jewelry, handbags, accessories, fragrances and even cookies. I meet a few cool individuals and we were able to practice our pitch to one another. There was a lot that I learned from this experience that has prepared me and I am grateful for this day.
