I love the designs of the late Alexander McQueen and I'm sure his pieces are worth every bit of what they cost. However, I have designed more affordable pieces with that AM edge. So in tribute to his work here are my earring/necklace combo at the price of $40 it's all yours. Since I get board easy, there won't be many duplicates as I believe in exclusivity.

Work Ethics

In any business you have to have a set of values based on hard work and diligence. This includes being reliable, taking initiative and maintaining social skills while setting and executing your goals. When you say you are going to do something have follow through. If you run into obstacles keep in communication so people don't think you are flaky. After all, nobody wants to feel like their time is being wasted as it is much to valuable. Get the job done. With that said I was asked to get backings for my earrings to better display them for sell at the boutique. I got right on it and quickly planned out what I could do to come up with a creative earring card holder that will make my pieces stand out. All the while I kept the manager of the store abreast of my plan, when I ordered, when I received and my finishing touch. The day I received my business cards I was in the store setting up my displays. I wasn't playing around because time waits for no man or woman. Here are a few visuals so you can see what I did. I added gemstones like I said I would on the card to enhance the elegance of the cards appearance. Being Regal is what my line is all about.

My first sell in the boutique!

I was just told that a pair of my earrings sold yesterday at the boutique! I'm excited as I have not had fancy displays for them...they basically sold themselves. :-) God is good! I received new business cards in the mail today and I am actually going to use them as earring card holders/hangtags to enable consumers to keep in touch with me.

I will be adding rhinestones on the necklace and earrings of the card to give it a little bling. I think that will be fancy and regal enough to go with my pieces. Stay tuned!

It's that time of year again! Fashion's Night Out September 10, 2010 NYC style. If you aren't in NY at the time don't fret my pet...you can check out the hundreds of NYC retailers online and see if they will be selling their FNO collection online. Hey, it's worth trying! Anyhow, the flyer above is for an FNO event at Callalilai. One designer will be sharing her fall 2010 collection while I will have a few paintings on display (and also for sell) along with my jewelry. :-) Stop by if you're in the area if not...well, I guess you will just have to see when I post online. Elie Tahari has an inspirational story. Born in Jerusalem and sent to an orphanage after his parents divorced and later to an Israeli Air Force boarding school in Haifa; he managed to migrate to the US as an electrician. He moved to New York and sought work in the Garment District sleeping nights at a YMCA or the benches of Central Park. He learned about the retail business while selling clothes at a boutique in Greenwich Villiage. Elie then began to design women's fashion inspired by the NYC nightclub scene. Tahari became one of the first fashion designers to open a boutique on Madison Avenue in 1974. Today Elie Tahari is an American luxury designer for men and women with his clothing gracing five continents, more than 6,000 US stores and in five free-standing boutiques. That's a long way to come from sleeping in YMCA's and on park benches. Today model's wore t-shirts expressing love for ET as he cut the ribbon to the new lay of the ET shop in Saks Fifth Ave.

Aaliyah Remembered By Nicki Minaj, Diddy, T.I.

Today marks the 9th anniversary of Aaliyah's death. I can't believe how many years have gone by when I heard about the tragic accident in my college apartment that took her life at such a young age. She was a remarkable talent and it still saddens me to this day to see such a beautiful talented life cut short. As she wanted to be remembered as a full on entertainer and good person I think her wish has come true as celebs via twitter, MTV, BET have paid tribute to her this very day 9 years later. That alone speaks volumes on what kind of person she must have been to those that knew her. May her family find comfort in knowing she is not forgotten. I have an inkling that Pastels are going to be the next trend. Neons, lace, fishnets, mohawks etc. made a comeback when everyone wanted to get with the 80's and now shoulder pads, wild patterns and prints, goth and mushroom bobs (aka the Halle Berry Boomerang) style came back when the 90's began to ease its way into fashion again. Now I know pastels will be next....wait and see. If you don't want to follow the trend then set your own.
