The Art of HIM
I have been reading Grace For The Moment by Max Lucado. My dad gave it to me as a gift a few years ago. It consist of inspirational thoughts for each day of the year. Since I have not started at the top of the year, I figured why wait for the new year? Begin on the day you gravitated to it which was a few weeks ago. Today's inspiration is based on 2 Timothy 2:13 {If we are not faithful, he will still be faithful, because he cannot be false to himself.} This speaks volumes to me and I welcome all who would like to open it up for discussion. This can be interpreted in many ways whoever, I will share one way that has moved me in reading this. As we are made in his image, those who so desire to walk in the path of the upright should be faithful to themselves. In a world where there is so much going on, one can set themselves up for disappointment when putting your trust in man. People can and will disappoint you if you hold all your expectations on them. Especially if you have high expectations. Everyone has responsibilities and life can have moments that are overwhelming so it is almost impossible for everyone to meet all of our expectations. Does that mean we have to lash out? Does that mean we have to be less faithful in return? Absolutely not. If we are made in his image we should do our best to follow his lead in being faithful to ourselves. Who are you deep down inside? Are you a person who naturally cares about the well being of others? Are you naturally a friend to everyone you meet? Are you naturally giving? What ever it is that you are by nature take a moment and let that resonate. Don't let the outcome of disappointment shift your character. Be faithful and truthful to yourself.

The Art of Religion
Although I was born into Catholicism, as an adult I chose to be a Christian. While I was in college I took a Religious Studies course and learned about all religions. I wanted to give myself a better understanding so that I could make an informed decision on what would be best for me. A college friend of mine was Muslim and invited me to a Mosque. Out of respect I was covered from head to toe. I remember the women and children were upstairs listening to the message over an intercom while the men were on the first floor. It was interesting to experience however I did not feel it was me. In my admiration for Arabic script I eventually got a tattoo that states "With God everything is possible" - Matthew 19:26.

I grew to be the woman that I am today upon gaining my connection to God when I began to study the word and attend Baptist church. There is much respect in me for other religions and dominations as I do have somewhat of a grasp on the subject. You actually can pull commonalities from each. I like to include some of the various religions symbolisms in my designs. As you see pictured, the Like a Prayer piece is in lieu of a Rosary.
Another that I have included in my designs is the Om symbol which is a sacred syllable for Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.

The Art of Prayer
May everyone who receives this message be blessed. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost, just a lot of reward. Make sure you pray, and pray believing God will answer.
May today be all you need it to be. May the peace of God and the
freshness of the Holy Spirit restore your thoughts, rule in your dreams
tonight, and conquer all your fears. May God manifest Himself today in
ways you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your
dreams be closer, and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters
a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged. I pray for
peace, healing, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, true and undying

The Art of Living
On my train ride home this evening I came across a quote that brought about deep thoughts. "Who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakes." - unknown
This caused me to think about how at times I've focused on others success' and often longed to be in their shoes. That was me dreaming. And I would often daydream of what it would be like if I could be exactly where that person was that I once idolized. Once I matured into my own self I learned to focus on my personal goals and compare less of what God has planned for another ones journey in life. I'm sure I'm not the only one guilty of this but it is important that we continue to live and discover our own purpose in life. Some things are out of our control but I have noticed that when I put my trust in the creator I go on living in faith. Prayers may not be answered immediately but the promises that we're given do arrive at the appointed time. I am more awake now than ever before.

The Art of Work
So I have been MIA on my blogging as I have been extremely busy building and launching my website www.regalsovereignjewelry.com That very day I received orders and of course I had to get right to work and complete the task. Everything is a work in progress. I know as an artist I'm constantly growing and evolving into the person God is molding me to be. After all, I am the clay and he's the potter. In previous blogs I talk about doing things myself. I don't know if it's because I feel if you want something done majority of the time you have to do it yourself otherwise it will only get done on someone else's time.
The reason I decided to make my own site is because I was asked to be featured on a site that promotes up and coming designers. The website will be launching soon as they are still working on it however, they wanted a lookbook and photos of my jewelry to add in the designer section. Low and behold I did not have a lookbook so we were trying to plan a photo shoot. When you're starting off you have to spend money before you begin to see any profit.
To make a long story short I did some research and came up with how I could shoot my jewelry without a budget. Then I realized, if I was going to do all this to be featured on a website why not go the extra mile and make my own website right now to be more accessible to sell and get my line out there. Yes, it's a lot of work to do all these things myself but if I don't want to get ahead of myself and start spending lots of money on a web designer, photographer, models, etc and figure out a day that works for everyone then I just have to do it in my down time. Like I said this way I know it will be done when I want it done. There will come a point in time where I will have to hire help but for now this is what I'm working with. Hopefully the site does well and that time will come soon. :-)
In closing, I wanted to share a letter from Italian jewelry designer Roberto Coin. He titled this The Art Of Being Oneself, "My lifestyle is continually changing with the times, anticipating trends and inventing my own fashion. My fashion is renewed by my desire to understand and discover new trends. Fashion should represent freedom; freedom for the person who wears jewelry and freedom for the person who creates it. Fashion should enhance the personality of everybody; it is an art, but the art of being different and should increase the ability of today's women to feel more comfortable in their own role." In relevance to the art of work, Roberto Coin has a unique angle in his approach to his consumers. His work is inspired by an ancient Egyptian legend and each piece is marked with the signature hidden ruby that is placed where it will touch the skin, blessing all who wear it with a long life, health and happiness as that is what the ruby signifies.
